Staycation | Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

Some of us really love being near to planes or the airport.
Thus, staying at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport has been on the wishlist for a long time. It was during the period when the exhibition ended and two of my friends have just finished their final semester before moving on to working life (although one has already started working by the time of the staycation)

We stayed in a Suite Room which has partial views of the runway. We also brought #matchacat by Evacomics along! I think we got upgraded to a Club Suite from a Suite as we were given Club benefits and complimentary amenities in the suite which was a really pleasant surprise.

The suite is about 72 sqm and really spacious. There is even a walk-in wardrobe.

The Minibar uses illy coffee and Dilmah tea.

The hotel building was designed by WOHA which also did the Parkroyal on Pickering.

The swimming pool. A friend of mine who does landscape architecture and myself were pretty disturbed by the mediocre workmanship on the detail-level of the pool. Thought the design of the pool could have been more refined There is a weird skylight area at the rear.

The Club Lounge is located on the same level as the Swimming Pool. There is small selection of canapes during the evening Happy Hour. During our stay, they ran out of geraldine, thus the cocktail menu was extremely limited.

We have stocked up on some food for a mini-gathering at the suite.

Jamon Iberico de Bellota that we got from NTUC.
Biscuits from Fortnum & Mason, a gift from Alvin in UK.
Salted Egg & Cereal Truffles and Earl Grey Truffles from Demochoco
as well as some chocolates from Le Tao and Malebranche in Japan.

AT THE AIRPORT

We wish.

Our supper, some items we got from around Terminal 3. Loved the 24-hr basement food court. The dim sum was actually not bad at all. The other guys went for Four Fingers. Thought their chicken has very little meat.

We had breakfast the next day at Azur, the in-house restaurant the next morning which was included in the rate. For additional guests to join us, it cost 20 SGD or 33 SGD.

IHG Club members have a different seating area, supposedly more quiet I think.

The safe choices for breakfast are the classics like eggs and the congee. The Indian option and dim sum are disappointing. The biryani and har gaw were too dry. Surprised to see the use of a number of canned fruits instead of fresh ones.

After checking out, we redeemed our complimentary "welcome" drinks at the Lobby Lounge and finish off the remaining truffles from Demochoco.
